For many years I’ve had the honor of working with organizations that have helped design the landscape of the greater Charlotte area, North Carolina and the Southeast. Their impact on our citizens’ lives in healthcare, real estate and education is measurable and impressive. From our earliest days working together, I developed my values as a lawyer – investing in personal relationships and being straightforward and clear in every interaction. This has helped build our reputation as a law firm: we have only one standard – a gold standard.
Jim Allison was a veteran business lawyer who built his career representing some of the largest and most significant institutions in North Carolina. Fundamentally, he helped clients seize opportunities and avoid liabilities. Jim offered deep knowledge and experience in healthcare, commercial real estate acquisition and leasing, and higher education. Jim previously worked with numerous organizations in transition and in periods of steady growth. The issues he helped clients manage include negotiating contracts of all types, such as non-competes, teacher and vendor contracts and many others, mitigating risk from data breaches, protecting facilities and buildings against gun violence and other security concerns, negotiating real estate acquisitions and commercial leases, and healthcare fraud and abuse. Jim’s consistent demand by client senior executives, corporate counsel and other board leaders was driven by his accessibility, approachability and encyclopedic knowledge. Having mentored several of the lawyers within client companies, he provided perspective, leadership and business guidance on virtually any issue and opportunity that arose.
