After nearly forty years of practice, John Morrice is retiring from the practice of law effective February 2023. John joined the firm in 1983 and played a vital role in broadening the firm’s corporate practice. During his time at JAH, the firm grew from five attorneys in 1983 to the fifty-attorney Charlotte institution it is today.
As an attorney, John represented privately held and family-owned businesses ranging from startups to companies generating hundreds of millions in revenue. John understood and valued that every business is as unique as the individual or family that started it. Through his varied expertise in all aspects of corporate law and his genuine care for his clients, John was able to represent businesses through multiple generations of ownership.
In addition to providing his legal expertise to his clients, John served as the firm’s Co-Managing Partner from 1997 to 2005 and as Chair of the firm’s Corporate Practice Group for many years.
Although John is no longer accepting new clients, he will continue with the firm on a limited basis to serve a few long-term clients.
