Holly Norvell Serves as Panelist for Foundation for the Carolinas Charitable Gifts of Business Interests Discussion

Johnston Allison Hord is excited to announce that partner Holly Norvell served as a panelist during a discussion hosted by Foundation for the Carolinas on September 1st in Charlotte, NC. The presentation, titled “The Good, the Bad & the Illiquid: Charitable Gifts of Business Interests,” offered attendees an in-depth look at the opportunities and challenges involved in donating business interests to charity.

Holly joined Foundation for the Carolinas Chief Administration Officer & Chief Risk Officer Doug Benson and South Park Advisors Managing Partner Rob Snowden for a panel discussion covering topics relevant to donors, advisors, and nonprofit professionals. The discussion addressed how business interests can serve as advantageous charitable assets; valuation requirements and appraisal expectations; tax implications; issues that may arise during IRS audits; and how to assemble an effective advisory team to guide these complex gifts.

Foundation for the Carolinas was founded in 1958 and helps manage philanthropic assets while connecting donors, businesses and nonprofit organizations to charitable needs throughout the region. Johnston Allison Hord is proud to be represented by Holly as she shares her knowledge and expertise with the Charlotte philanthropic community.
