On September 29, 2023, Johnston Allison Hord partner David Carson spoke at the NCBA Construction Section Fall 2023 program titled “Contracts, Controversies, and Completion“. The CLE program hosted in Charlotte, NC offered professionals expert insights into all parts of construction disputes from contract formation to litigation. David’s presentation, “Find the Smoking Gun!“, emphasized the importance of discovery in construction disputes and outlined what information collected during discovery is most important. Other sessions at the program covered topics including what to include in construction contracts, how to handle complaints before North Carolina licensing boards, the pros and cons of public private partnerships (P3s), mediated settlements, preparing for litigation, and more.
