46th Annual Queens Estate Planners Day

Queens University’s 46th Annual Estate Planners Day, brought together estate planning professionals for a day of educational programming and networking on May 16th in Charlotte, North Carolina. This annual conference provided attendees with valuable insights, continuing education credit, and an opportunity to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of fiduciary law.

The event covered a wide range of topics relevant to estate planners including a state and federal update, Medicare planning for high income clients, spousal lifetime trusts, the Corporate Transparency Act, and the effect of interest rates and growth on wealth transfer. These sessions offered a comprehensive overview of key areas impacting estate planning professionals and their clients.

Johnston Allison Hord partner Kim Kirk presented the North Carolina update. Kim shared important case law and legislative developments in the state that directly affect estate planners and their clients. Her insights provided attendees with valuable knowledge and actionable strategies for navigating the local landscape.

In addition to Kim’s presentation, JAH partner Kyle Agee served as the immediate past chair of the event’s steering committee and as moderator of the federal update Q&A. Kyle’s leadership ensured a well-organized and successful event, allowing over 300 attendees to network, gain invaluable insights and receive continuing education credits.
