After fifty-five years of practice, Morry Johnston retires from Johnston Allison Hord effective December 31, 2022. Morry joined the firm in 1966, made partner in 1967, and became a name partner in 1997 when the firm officially changed its name to Johnston, Allison & Hord P.A. Over the course of his career, Morry grew the firm from four attorneys to the fifty-attorney Charlotte institution it is today.
Morry represented many of the most influential privately-held companies in North Carolina. He took great pride in building personal and professional relationships with his clients and colleagues, and many of his clients have worked with the firm for multiple generations.
Morry is truly a cornerstone of the Charlotte and North Carolina bars. We thank Morry for his leadership and service to the firm and congratulate him on a job well done. One of Morry’s favorite phrases is “Life is not a spectator sport,” so we expect him to have a very active and fun retirement!
