Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time playing golf, sailing, and working in his garden. Matt also loves a challenge, and the current challenge is to race an Ironman. However, his favorite thing to do on the weekend is to spend time exploring somewhere new with his wife and two children.

Legal challenges don’t exist in a vacuum, and I don’t believe the solutions should either. My goal is to serve clients strategically and efficiently in a way that recognizes the clients’ business fundamentals. After collaboratively developing a path forward, clients can have confidence that I will be there to execute effectively and cost efficiently all the way to the finish line.

Matt Ashley is a North Carolina real estate attorney who represents a variety of clients in acquisitions, sales, land development, commercial leases, joint ventures, and other matters related to real estate advisory services. In these matters, Matt represents investors and developers in hospitality, retail, manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, and other industries.

While earning his Juris Doctorate from the University of North Carolina School of Law, Matt served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Kenneth D. Bell at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina and as a summer associate at Johnston Allison Hord. After graduation, he joined the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group.
