A new resident of South Carolina from New York, when Maisha is away from the office, she enjoys exploring the Carolinas.
Maisha Blakeney is an associate in the firm’s litigation practice group, where she concentrates her practice on condemnation, rezoning, and land-use matters. Maisha also has experience in insurance defense, automobile accident claims, premises liability claims, wrongful death claims, medical misconduct claims, nursing home abuse and misconduct claims, employment discrimination claims, breach of contract matters, and plaintiff personal injury matters. Maisha was very active in various community activities prior to relocating to the Carolinas. Most recently, she was an active Executive Board member with the Erie County Bar Association, Volunteer Lawyers Project, a not-for-profit corporation that provides free civil legal services to low income individuals and small not-for-profit groups in Western New York by providing staff and volunteers to represent clients. Maisha previously served as a Member of the Volunteer Lawyers Project, Say Yes Legal Task Force which assist with the Say Yes Buffalo partnerships initiative to provide post-secondary educational opportunities to students in the Western New York Area. Maisha also served as volunteer Board Member with the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center, a newly formed organization that seeks to preserve and teach others about the historic role of the people of Niagara Falls in facilitating freedom for oppressed persons. She also served as a mentor to law students at her alma mater.
