Summer Clerkships
At Johnston, Allison & Hord, P.A., we strive to create a summer clerkship program that closely approximates
the practice of law. Our summer clerks meet with clients, attend court hearings, perform research, and assist in
drafting briefs and other legal documents. In short, their work is regularly incorporated into the final product.
While we prefer that rising second-year law students spend most, if not all, of their summer with us, rising
third-year law students are free to split their summer with another law firm and spend either half with us.
Danny Merlin, a 2006 graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, clerked with our firm after both his first and second years
of law school. For his perspective on the summer program, please click on his picture below.
