Representative Work

  • Served as lead counsel in obtaining reversal on appeal of the trial court’s invalidation of a sale of property from the City of Asheville to developer. See Metcalf v. Black Dog Realty, LLC, 684 S.E.2d 709 (N.C. App. 2009).
  • Represented hospital in federal court employment discrimination trial resulting in a jury verdict finding no liability of hospital.
  • Obtained favorable settlement of lawsuit by Duke Power against real estate developer for alleged power right-ofway violations.
  • Successfully defended hospital accused of violating physician’s statutory rights in medical peer review proceeding, and successfully defended claims by newspaper of violation of public records and open courts violations. See Virmani v. Presbyterian Health Services Corp.
  • Assisted multiple parties defrauded by an attorney’s theft of trust funds in the recovery of the stolen funds totaling over $1.5M.
