Representative Work

  • Advises and defends employers with regard to all employment issues including EEOC and wrongful discharge claims and claims brought under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FLSA and FMLA.
  • Assists employers with the drafting and review of employment handbooks, contracts and severance agreements.
  • Advises and represents individuals charged with and/or under investigation for various white collar crimes including antitrust violations.
  • Advises and counsels corporate employers when employees commit criminal acts such as embezzlement and corporate malfeasance against the company.
  • Obtained petition for discretionary review to North Carolina Supreme Court for defendant-physician and defendant-medical practice in a medical malpractice action.
  • Successfully defended hospitals, medical practices, physicians and nurses against medical negligence claims at trial.
  • Obtained extensive jury trial experience prosecuting attempted murder, armed robbery and narcotics trafficking cases during six years at the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Office.
